A Workshop Devoted to Financial Literacy

We believe that understanding money should not require a finance degree. Our work is to make that understanding accessible, honest, and useful.

— Our Story —

How Morath Sellin Came to Be

Morath Sellin was founded in Petaling Jaya in 2016 by a small group of financial educators who had spent years working within the banking sector and later within adult education. What brought them together was a shared frustration: most financial education in Malaysia was either product-driven, overly technical, or designed to sell something.

The founding team wanted to create something different — programmes that treated participants as intelligent adults, presented concepts without agenda, and left people better equipped to make their own decisions. The workshop's name, drawn from the traditions of letterpress printing, reflects this philosophy: careful composition, deliberate choices, and content that stands on its own merit.

Since 2016, we have worked with individuals across the Klang Valley and beyond — from recent graduates managing their first salaries to mid-career professionals reviewing their retirement positions. Each programme has been refined over successive editions, much like a text improved through careful proofreading.

— Our Mission —

What We Are Here to Do

Our mission is to make structured, unbiased financial education available to adults in Malaysia — in a format that respects their intelligence, their time, and their circumstances.

We do not sell financial products. We do not receive commissions. We produce and deliver educational programmes — and we do so with the attention to detail of a print shop composing a fine broadside.

Unbiased content. No product recommendations, no embedded advertising, no commissions from third parties.

Local relevance. All programmes are grounded in Malaysian financial instruments, regulations, and conditions.

Accessible pace. Recorded sessions and printed materials allow participants to learn on their own schedule.

How We Hold Our Work

Editorial Independence

Programme content is reviewed and updated independently. No financial institution or product provider has input into our curriculum.

Accurate, Dated Materials

All reference materials carry edition dates and are reviewed annually to reflect current Malaysian market conditions, legislation, and EPF guidelines.

Participant Privacy

Enrolment data is kept confidential and never shared with third parties. We follow PDPA (Malaysia) guidelines in full.

Qualified Facilitation

Optional facilitated sessions are conducted only by team members with relevant professional experience — never outsourced to unvetted individuals.

Post-Programme Support

Participants may direct questions to us by email for up to three months after programme completion — without further charge.

Continuous Improvement

Each programme edition is refined based on participant feedback. We treat every cohort as a proofing run — useful, correctable, and worth improving.

— Our Commitment —

Financial Education Worth Returning To

Morath Sellin occupies a distinct space in Malaysian adult education: we focus entirely on financial literacy without the distractions of product sales, upselling, or advisory services. Our three programmes — covering household budgeting, investment concepts, and retirement planning — are self-contained, practically grounded, and updated to reflect the realities of the Malaysian financial landscape.

We serve participants across Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, and the wider Klang Valley who prefer learning on their own terms, with materials they can keep and reference long after the course concludes. Whether you are organising your first household budget or reviewing a decades-long retirement strategy, Morath Sellin's programmes offer a considered starting point.
